SEIU Bargaining Report - Feb 29, 2024

CWA-SEIU 9423 Bargaining Update - 2/29/24

SEIU FINANCIAL REPORT
Your CWA bargaining team received a Financial Report from CEO Riko Mendez and
discussed high-priority Articles on temp workers in negotiations today, Thursday, Feb
29th.
However, management continues to reject our proposal regarding temporary workers.
As we get ready to bargain on economics, SEIU 521 management made clear that the
rising cost of Healthcare is unsustainable for the organization.

CCPU TRANSITION
CWA members working on the Child Care Providers United campaign joined today’s
negotiation table to have a discussion with management on the change of working
conditions while transferring their Department from External to Internal.
“It has been so satisfying to see CCPU grow by over 1,000 members in the last year.
How can we as a union now provide them with less support instead of more?” -Anna
Farfan, CCPU Organizer, CWA member
“We are talking about making an investment that matches the engagement and
commitment of CCPU members. We are talking about righting a wrong made by the
labor movement that has historically excluded domestic workers. This chapter is one of
the largest women of color-led labor chapters in the country and I want to be part of an
organization that invests in them.” -David Padilla, CCPU Political Organizer, CWA
member
