Today is CWA's PRO Act Day of Action!

On behalf of Liz Sorenson, Area/Legislative-Political Director

We need your help!!  It's not going well today.  We usually have about 700-800 calls at this time during the day of action, but today we have only generated 285 calls; only 2 calls of which were made on the Senate line.  We need to make those calls!!!

Is your representative a co-sponsor? Find out here.

Hello, my name is [ YOUR NAME ]. I am a constituent and live in [ CITY, STATE ]. I’m also a member of CWA [ LOCAL NUMBER ]. I’m calling to urge my congressperson to co-sponsor H.R. 2474/S.1306, the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act.

The PRO Act is a key piece of legislation to make it easier to organize and bargain for workers, and the Communications Workers of America (CWA) is counting on all members of Congress who support workers to support this legislation.

It’s incredibly difficult for private sector workers to organize if their employer opposes them doing so. Companies can misclassify workers, dodge accountability for violating worker rights, intimidate workers and more - all completely legally.

And when companies do break the law, like illegally firing workers for supporting union organizing, the penalties are almost non-existent. The penalties take years to secure and provide little deterrent to illegal activity.

The PRO Act would fix these problems and re-establish workers’ right to organize. Over 200 of your colleagues in the House are already co-sponsoring this bill. I’m urging you to join them and co-sponsor the PRO Act! Thank you for your consideration.

Thank you for taking action now!
